Identify the Exact Nursery Product
A crib, dresser, changing table and glider all use different assemblies. Keep the manual and product labels with each item so hardware does not get mixed between boxes. If a crib has multiple mattress-height positions or conversion parts, decide the intended configuration before final assembly.
Hardware, Slats and Moving Components
Crib rails, mattress supports and drawer slides should be installed exactly as specified. Do not substitute random fasteners for missing manufacturer hardware. For dressers or cabinets, drawer operation and door alignment should be checked before the unit is loaded.
Room Layout Before the Furniture Is Built
Large nursery pieces may be difficult to move through doors once assembled. Confirm the final wall positions, door swing and walking space first. Keep furniture away from obvious conflicts such as heat sources or areas where cords and window treatments create avoidable hazards.
Anti-Tip and Wall Anchoring
When the manufacturer requires anti-tip anchoring, the attachment method should match the actual wall substrate and the supplied or approved hardware. Wall condition must be known before anchors are chosen. The broader furniture assembly page covers ordinary adult furniture without nursery-specific considerations.
Used, Missing or Reconfigured Parts
Second-hand nursery furniture may arrive without labels, hardware or current instructions. NJ-GoodHome does not certify a product’s safety standard or recall status; the correct manufacturer documentation should be available before assembly.
What to Send
Call (223) 226-1828 with photos of the boxes, model label, manual and nursery location. List each item separately so crib, storage and seating work can be scoped without assuming one generic furniture setup.
Within a baby & nursery furniture assembly request, assembly & installation and office furniture assembly stay separate paths when either issue expands beyond this page’s scope.
