Board Type and Mounting System
Bristle boards, electronic boards and cabinet-style dartboards use different hangers and depths. Confirm the supplied bracket or cabinet hardware before drilling. Electronic units also need to reach an existing power source without creating a cord hazard across the throwing area.
Wall Height and Throwing Line
The board location should be chosen with the intended playing dimensions and the room’s actual floor surface in mind. Measure from the finished floor, not from temporary rugs or platforms that may move later. Check that furniture or doors do not intrude into the throwing lane.
Stud, Masonry or Hollow-Wall Mounting
The mounting method depends on what is behind the finish. A cabinet assembly can place more leverage on the wall than a bare board. Anchors should match the substrate and load rather than be selected only because they fit the bracket hole.
Protecting the Wall and Surrounding Area
A surround, cabinet or backing panel can protect finishes around the board. If a custom backboard or trim feature is being built rather than simply hung, that becomes a small carpentry scope instead of standard dartboard installation.
Level and Rotation
The board should sit level and secure enough that normal dart removal does not shift it. Bristle boards that are designed to rotate should remain removable without loosening the wall hardware.
