Front-of-House and Back-of-House Program
Seating count, service style, bar or counter operations and customer circulation shape the front of house. The back of house must support prep, cooking, dishwashing, storage and staff movement. The two zones meet at doors, service paths and utility locations.
The commercial construction & renovation hub covers commercial work that is not restaurant-specific.
Kitchen Equipment and Utility Coordination
Cooking and refrigeration equipment can affect electrical loads, gas, water, drainage and ventilation. Equipment dimensions should be confirmed early so wall, floor and utility rough-ins align with the selected units. A design still being developed around those requirements may fit commercial design-build.
Health, Fire and Accessibility Requirements
Restaurant projects can trigger health, fire, egress and accessibility requirements that vary by use and jurisdiction. These conditions influence layouts, finishes and equipment placement. NJ-GoodHome does not promise regulatory approval or claim specialist credentials without evidence.
Large projects with many approval and procurement dependencies may use commercial construction management.
Exhaust, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical Interfaces
Commercial kitchen ventilation, make-up air and utility connections can be highly specialized. The build-out should distinguish base construction from work that must be performed or verified by qualified trades. Commercial general contracting can coordinate a defined construction package without implying every regulated trade is performed in-house.
Finishes, Millwork and Durable Surfaces
Dining finishes support the concept, while kitchen and service areas prioritize cleanability, moisture resistance and durability. Millwork, counters and wall protection should be coordinated with equipment and circulation rather than added as decoration at the end.
Opening-Date Planning and Inspections
An opening target must account for construction, inspections, equipment commissioning, staff setup and final cleaning/stocking. Call NJ-GoodHome at (223) 226-1828 with the concept, location, lease status and equipment information to discuss the build-out sequence.
