Table Base and Top
Pedestal tables, trestle tables and four-leg tables transfer load differently. Attach the base according to the manufacturer sequence and keep the top protected while it is upside down. A long table can twist if one side is fully tightened before the opposite side is aligned.
Extension Leaves and Mechanisms
If the table expands, test the slides, leaf locks and alignment before final placement. Leaves should meet the main top without forcing the mechanism. Store removable leaves as recommended so warping or edge damage does not create a future fit problem.
Chair Frames and Repeated Parts
Dining chairs repeat the same joints many times, making it easy to mix left/right pieces or use one fastener type in the wrong location. Assemble one chair carefully first, confirm the orientation, then use that verified sequence for the rest of the set.
Wobble, Floor Contact and Protection
A chair or table that rocks may be out of square even when all hardware feels tight. Check floor contact before adding felt pads or glides. On finished floors, protect the surface during assembly and avoid dragging the table once the legs are attached.
If the project is one of several household furniture jobs, furniture assembly is the broader route.
Room Layout and Clearance
Leave enough space for chairs to pull out and for people to move behind occupied seats. Call NJ-GoodHome at (223) 226-1828 with the set model, table dimensions and room access details.
Within a dining set assembly request, assembly & installation and playset & swing set assembly & installation stay separate paths when either issue expands beyond this page’s scope.
