Decide What Will Be Reused
A playset being moved should be disassembled differently from one headed for disposal. Identify which towers, beams, slides, roof panels and accessories need to survive intact. Severely rotted or damaged wood may not be suitable for reuse even if it can be taken apart.
Photograph and Label Before Taking It Apart
Wide photos capture the overall arrangement; closer photos show brace orientation, hardware and accessory locations. Label major frame members and bag fasteners by section. That work can save substantial confusion if the structure is assembled again later.
Remove Accessories Before Main Framing
Swings, slides, climbing walls and loose roof pieces should usually come off before large structural members. Reducing weight makes the main frame safer to handle and keeps accessories from being damaged as posts or beams are lowered.
Anchors and Base Connections
Ground anchors, concrete-set posts or custom footings can change the disassembly scope. Cutting permanent anchors may make them unusable for reinstallation. If a new location is already planned, the future base requirements should be considered before parts are discarded.
For rebuilding at the destination, use playset and swing set assembly and installation.
Storage and Transport Preparation
Disassembly does not automatically include haul-away, transport or disposal. Call NJ-GoodHome at (223) 226-1828 with photos and the intended next step so reusable parts and disposal expectations are clear.
Within a playset disassembly request, assembly & installation and trampoline disassembly stay separate paths when either issue expands beyond this page’s scope.
