Umbrella Type and Base
Center-pole umbrellas depend mostly on the stand and canopy mechanism. Cantilever umbrellas use a larger offset base and rotating arm. Identify all base plates, counterweights or fillable sections before erecting the mast.
Mast, Arm and Canopy
Join mast sections in the orientation shown by the manufacturer. Cantilever arms may include cables, cranks and locking positions that should move freely before the canopy is fully opened. Do not force a stiff joint with extra leverage.
Base Weight and Surface
The supplied base system should sit on a stable, level surface. Some products require specific counterweights or filled base sections. Permanent anchoring or new concrete footings are separate from ordinary umbrella assembly.
Wind and Operating Clearance
Outdoor umbrellas create a large sail area when open. Follow manufacturer wind and closure guidance and leave room for the canopy to rotate without hitting walls, railings or roof edges. This service does not make wind-rating guarantees beyond the product documentation.
If the shade system is an awning or fixed structure, awning and shade installation owns that different intent.
