Console Body and Shelf Layout
Build the case square before doors or drawers are adjusted. Fixed shelves may support the cabinet structure, while adjustable shelves should be positioned around receivers, game systems or other equipment. Check component heights and ventilation needs before choosing shelf positions.
Doors, Drawers and Cable Openings
Hinges and slides should operate without binding. Back panels often include cable openings; orient those panels correctly so wires can reach equipment without being pinched or forced around sharp edges.
TV Support Type
Some media units include an integrated TV mounting column or bracket. Confirm its rated size/weight and attachment sequence before placing the television. A separate wall-mounted TV belongs on TV and soundbar mounting.
Wall Restraint and Stability
Tall entertainment furniture may include anti-tip straps. The anchor method must match the wall substrate. Do not rely on the TV’s weight to stabilize a cabinet that rocks or leans.
Final Position and Power Access
Leave access to outlets and enough ventilation around electronic equipment. Large consoles should be assembled in or near the final room if door clearance is tight.
