Prefabricated Base or Site-Built Pan
A manufactured acrylic/composite base installs differently from a mortar-bed/tile shower pan. Drain position, curb geometry and wall waterproofing must coordinate with the chosen system.
Slope and Drain Connection
The pan needs continuous drainage toward the drain without low spots. Drain-body compatibility and connection are critical. New plumbing or relocating a drain is qualification-dependent work and should be identified separately.
Waterproofing Is a System
Tile and grout are finish layers. Membranes, corners, penetrations and the transition between pan and walls control water management. A leak cannot be solved reliably by regrouting alone if the waterproofing system has failed.
For wall/floor tile work, use Shower Tile Installation & Repair. Broader system work is on Bathroom / Shower Waterproofing.

For shower pan installation, plumbing & bathroom remains the separate route when that adjacent need becomes the main customer task.
