New Fence or Repair Existing Sections
A leaning run caused by failed posts is a different job from replacing a few damaged pickets or rails. Before choosing repair, look at post movement, rot or corrosion, rail attachment and whether the fence still follows a stable line. A repair should correct the failed component rather than only make the visible panel look straighter for a short time.
Material Changes the Repair
Wood fences may need post, rail, picket or gate work. Vinyl systems use interlocking panels and posts that can crack or loosen differently. Metal fencing has its own fasteners, hinges and corrosion points. Matching an older style can also affect whether a small patch or a larger section replacement makes more sense.
Gates, Corners and Grade
Gates concentrate weight at hinge posts and quickly reveal a fence that is out of plumb. Corners carry tension from two directions. On sloped ground, stepped or racked panels need consistent spacing. Share gate width, terrain and close-up photos when requesting work.
If the fence is structurally sound and the main goal is finish renewal, see fence painting and staining. For masonry boundary work or retaining structures, use masonry services.
