First Identify Why the Ceiling Failed
A small impact hole differs from a long seam crack, nail pop or water stain. Water-damaged material should not be patched before the leak or moisture source is corrected. Sagging or widespread movement may require a deeper evaluation.
Patch vs Replace a Section
Small stable areas can sometimes be patched and feathered. Soft, delaminated or extensively damaged board may need section replacement. The existing texture and lighting angle affect how visible the repaired area will be.
Flat, Textured and Decorative Ceilings
Matching texture can be more difficult than matching a smooth finish. Exact visual matching is not guaranteed on aged surfaces. If the whole ceiling needs a new finish, the scope may extend beyond a localized repair.
Wall-focused damage belongs on Drywall Repair, while new board installation belongs on Drywall Installation.
