Removal Depends on What Is on the Wall
Traditional paper, vinyl-coated coverings and peel-and-stick products release differently. Older installations may have multiple layers or weak drywall paper underneath. Removal should protect the substrate as much as practical rather than aggressively tearing material away.
Wall Preparation Controls the Finish
Holes, rough patches, adhesive residue and glossy paint can telegraph through new wallpaper. Surfaces may need patching, sanding or compatible primer before installation. A clean, uniform base helps seams and pattern alignment look better.
Pattern Repeat and Layout
Printed patterns require enough material for repeat matching and trimming. The starting plumb line matters because room corners are rarely perfectly vertical. Openings and focal walls should be considered before the first strip is placed.
Wall repair can route to Drywall Repair and painted finishes to Interior Painting.
