Dryer Performance Can Point to Airflow
Long drying times, excess heat and lint accumulation around the dryer can be associated with restricted airflow, but they are not a diagnosis by themselves. The dryer appliance, duct length and exterior termination all affect performance.
Flexible Connector and Fixed Duct
The short connector behind the dryer and the fixed duct through the building should be considered separately. Crushed flexible material or excessive bends can restrict airflow even if the longer duct is clean.
Exterior Termination
The outside hood/flap should open freely and not be blocked by debris or damaged mesh. Access height affects how the endpoint can be inspected or cleaned.
Dryer appliance problems belong on Appliance Repair. Vent rerouting or major wall/ceiling access can become a larger repair project.

Within a dryer vent cleaning request, repair & maintenance and window cleaning stay separate paths when either issue expands beyond this page’s scope.
