Stair Rail or Wall-Mounted Handrail
A graspable wall rail differs from a guard/railing system at an open edge. Existing balusters/guards may need separate repair. Identify whether the project is support along a closed wall, protection at an open side or both.
Continuous Support and Returns
Interruptions, brackets and end conditions affect how the rail can be gripped. Product dimensions and applicable local requirements should guide height/clearance. NJ-GoodHome does not promise code compliance without site-specific review.
Mounting Structure
Brackets need solid attachment. Stud locations, masonry walls or blocking determine fastening. Decorative trim should not be treated as structural backing.
For stair rebuilding, see Stair Installation & Repair. Ramp-related hand support may be part of Wheelchair Ramp Installation.
Call (223) 226-1828 with route measurements and wall/stair photos.
For handrail installation, safety & accessibility remains the separate route when that adjacent need becomes the main customer task.
