Wall-Mounted Mailboxes
Wall boxes need fasteners appropriate to siding, masonry or trim without creating unnecessary water entry. The mounting height and lid/door swing should leave comfortable access and avoid interfering with exterior doors or railings.
Post Mailbox Condition
A leaning mailbox may have a loose box, damaged bracket or failed post below grade. Replacing only the box does not correct a rotted or unstable post. If the post is being replaced, underground utilities and local placement requirements need consideration before digging.
Multi-Box and Decorative Posts
Larger decorative systems may use crossarms, newspaper holders or multiple boxes. Assemble the post system square before setting it so doors open cleanly and the finished box sits level.
