Confirm the Tub Can Reach the Bathroom
Measure exterior doors, hallways, bathroom door and turning points. The tub’s shipping dimensions can be larger than expected. Doorway widening is a separate Doorway Widening scope if access is insufficient.
Alcove, Floor and Surround
The existing tub opening, floor condition and wall finish affect installation. Removing an old tub can expose substrate or plumbing conditions that were not visible beforehand.
Plumbing and Electrical Requirements
Drain/supply locations may need modification. Many walk-in tubs use powered pumps, heaters or controls. New circuits and plumbing changes require appropriate qualified scope and are not silently included.
Bathroom-Level Decision
A walk-in tub can be one component of a larger accessible bathroom. Use Accessible Bathroom Remodeling when layout, shower, vanity, doorway or flooring changes are coordinated.

For walk-in tub installation, safety & accessibility remains the separate route when that adjacent need becomes the main customer task.
